And do not lead us into temptation,

Do not bring us into the hands of a test


[For I/we know no] “one can say when he is tempted, “I am tempted by God”; for God cannot be tempted by
evil, nor does He Himself tempt anyone. But each one is tempted when he [/she] is drawn away by his [/her]
own desires and enticed.” ~ (James 1:13,14)


“Therefore [I/we] submit to God. [and] Resist the devil [so] he will flee from [me/us].” ~ (James 4:7)


“Watch and pray, lest [I/we] enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.” ~ (Mark 14: 38)


“Do not incline my [/our] heart to any evil thing, To practice wicked works With men who work iniquity” ~ (Psalm 141:4)


[I/we hold on to your promise that] “No temptation has overtaken [us/me] except such as is common to man;
but God is faithful, who will not allow [us/me] to be tempted beyond what [I/we] are able, but with the temptation
will also make the way of escape, that [I/we] may be able to bear it.” ~ (I Corinthians 10:13)


[Encourage us/me] “For [I/we] do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with [my/our] weaknesses,
but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin.  Let [me/us] therefore come boldly to the throne of
grace, that [I/we] may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.”  ~ (Hebrews 4:15,16)


“But you, O man of God, flee these things and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience,
gentleness. Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, to which you were also called and have
confessed the good confession in the presence of many witnesses” ~ (I Timothy 6:11,12)
